Reflexology is like a gentle foot massage. The practice stimulates reflex points located in the feet which correspond to all the systems and organs throughout the body. Gentle pressure is applied to these reflex points, thereby directing nerve messages and blood flow to the parts of the body to which those reflexes correspond.

Not only can specific health conditions be addressed, but the treatment also promotes a general sense of relaxation and well-being, as well as promoting better sleep, mental clarity and emotional comfort. The whole body can benefit just from this relaxing, non-invasive treatment of the feet! Essential oils are not used during reflexology, but I like to finish each treatment by massaging some of my Aperia lotion into the feet.

When using reflexology to treat ongoing health concerns, multiple sessions may be recommended. Often that means weekly appointments for 6-8 weeks, tapering off as results become apparent. Reflexology is covered by some health insurance providers, so be sure to check your coverage.
